#CLEfood + GIVEAWAY: Bomba Tacos & Rum

As Fall settles in, I hear of many people starting to slow down in prep for the colder temperatures of Winter, but I’m finding my crew and I having the opposite problem — October has been jammed packed full of fun all month long! With us all running in different directions, my mom and I needed the chance to catch up and what better way to do that with a mother/daughter girls night out. So instead of watching the Browns play the Patriots (I mean, come on now – we all knew how that one was going to end), we headed out to the East side this past Sunday evening for dinner at Bomba Tacos & Rum‘s Beachwood location.

As we’re not ones to shy away from the cocktail menu, my mom ordered the Traditional Mojito with Cruzan Light, lime, mint, soda and pure cane syrup as I opted for the Superior Margarita with Espolòn Reposado, Pierre Ferrand Dry Curaçao and housemade margarita mix. And as we’re also not shy away from solid appetizer options, we ordered the Craft-Your-Own-Guacamole with chipotle honey and goat cheese as add-ins. Our starters were rounded out with an order of chicken empanadas (not pictured).

But what really caught our attention on the menu – and what we were in to try – were Bomba’s new and improved bowls. Think of these of all your favorite flavors combined in one bowl – with plenty of food to last you through the rest of your day!

My mom and I selected the Grilled Adobo Chicken Bowl with black beans, charred scallions, pico de gallo, cilantro yogurt sauce and plantain chips and the Vietnamese Pork Meatball Bowl with Asian slaw, pickled red onions, spicy chile aioli, kale and peanut-plantain crumbs. We opted to include cauliflower rice on the grilled chicken bowl — this was my first time seeing that on a restaurant menu, which excited me as it’s nice to find a way to include a healthier option while eating out.

Our server especially suggested the Pork Meatball bowl, and BOY, was I glad we listened to her. It was an exercise in willpower to not eat the entire bowl that evening. Monday Alicia thanked Sunday Alicia for the leftovers the next day at lunchtime!

All in that Sunday evening, my mom and I had a great time catching up over some great food and beverages, and the team at Bomba Tacos & Rum want one of you to do the same!…
